Dedicated and humble service to OHCRA, OIA HCRA and HHSAA for many years have definitely earned the respect and aloha that so many have for these two. They are there before the sun rises and after it sets on race days and are always volunteering for more. They even volunteer for service before being asked for many events as paddling has become part of their life calling and a kuleana no ka Lahui Hawaii!

Always keeping everything in order and making sure that our organization for OHCRA and OIA has the support it needs to be successful is her forte! She continues to bless the OIA with her judging and officiating expertise and along with that she continues to perpetuate our sport by mentoring and allowing her children to learn to be officials as well. Such true unselfish commitment to everything she does is why we continue to show our appreciation for her! Mahalo Nunui Loa!

Jazmine is a true testament to giving back and paying it forward. She comes from the many youth programs and the OIA and now is giving back as an official as an adult paddler. Through all triumphs and tribulations, she has shown that nothing will stop someone who is determined to succeed and to stop at nothing short of excellence! Kīnā ʻole hoʻi hā - E mau ana ka haʻaheo! Many years of tremendous work for the OIA and the Student-Athletes makes Manu a role model and inspiration for us all. Having him serve as a Boat Driver and Water Official really helps to make our team even stronger. Tag teaming with his dad for many of our events makes the team even stronger and more professional and there are few that can do the job better. E maiau ka hana i ka naau lokomaikai! Mahalo to all of the OIA Coaches and the Support Staff for all you have done and continue to do for our Student-Athletes and OIA Paddling.
Words don’t serve justice to all that you do daily for your programs and our association. I am humbled, blessed, and honored to be able to have you all as part of the OIA Paddling Ohana!
All that is listed above only scratches the surface of what makes you who you are and how much of an impact you make on everyone you surround yourself with, and those that surround you.
Perpetuating the sport and culture are the roots of why we enjoy paddling and we make our kupuna extremely proud with every ounce of sweat, blood, and tears we shed to carry this tremendous responsibility.
Let the wind carry you through the water…let the current guide your path to the future and let those that have come before us bless us with the knowledge and wisdom to create stronger opportunities for us all!
Mahalo Piha!
